Final Thoughts...
For about a year now I have had this mod rolling around in my head, and I have to admit I am super excited to have it done, and also with how well it turned out. Now I will admit that I cut some corners on this project, in fact there are some things that I would much rather have changed. Finally getting my ideas out in some form seems to have taken precedence on this project. What would I change? Well I really wanted to power the monitor off the internal power supply. It was 12 volt native, at 4 amps. But I can get away with a lot less than that as the original inverter is no longer in the LCD monitor's components. If you try to do this mod just look for an LCD monitor that is 12V native and you should be able to get some success on that front. Another idea I had was to actually do a power supply mod to splice into the 110V line in the power supply its self. This also would have cut down on the number of external cables required, thus making it look sleeker. Finally I didn't have a cordless keyboard and mouse lying around, but it would really be pimp to get a nice Logitech set and mount the receiver in this unit also.

Now in regards to geek points. I took this little unit to a lan party recently. I used my 19" 8ms viewsonic monitor for my main gaming monitor. I also played some divx star wars movies as well as a webcam I mounted in the case on the lcd window kit. The reactions I got were priceless. I think I may have even leveled up in my geek score. But being a perfectionist there are still a lot of ways I can see to take this even to a higher level. I will be trying one of the "Convert a webcam to be an infrared webcam" mods soon and toying with that to see what results I can get. But my true holy grail for this project is to get one of the MIRICLE® 110KX S - Ultra Compact thermal imaging systems by Thermoteknix and mounting it in the case for real time thermal imaging on the LCD window kit in vibrant color! Who knows, maybe they will be so kind as to provide one to the cause after I get this article up so I can add some pictures.

Any who... there you have it. My thoughts: scattered, disorganized, and maybe slightly deranged... But man you got to love it. No, really you do. You should read the terms of use for this site. It clearly states... Well maybe not so clearly... Well you should any way this is a cool mod! Ahh forget it! I'm going to play some scorched earth 3d.

Until next time, remember to push the envelope, because only in uncharted territories are the next discoveries waiting to be found.
